lyrical fitness...

i feel foolish, i wanna drink too much.
you look polish; got a wicked sense of humor.
i feel dizzy and i want your touch.
let's get tipsy and start a rumor.
i feel restless here, i can't sit still.
everybody at this party's got their fingers in the till.
i bet their parents are ridiculously loaded.
let's get moving before i'm loaded.
the dancers need a dance floor, the swinger's gotta swing.
fashionable people doing questionable things.
fashionable, fashionable fashionable people.
i really like you and i hope you like my band.
i like your boyfriend too, do you think he understands?
i can't remember how he ended up out here but all good things have got to start somewhere.
dancers need a dancefloor, swinger's gotta swing.
fashionable people doing questionable things.
fashionable, fashionable, fashionable people.
one more time i don't wanna hang around in someone elses scene;
fashionable people doing questionable things.
so ditch him, he's no good for you; ditch him and do the switcheroo.
switch him, switch him up with me.
leave him in the ditch and you can hitch a ride for free.
dancers need a dancefloor, swinger's gotta swing.
fashionable people doing questionable things.
just lookin just like magazines.
fashionable, fashionable, fashionable people-- that's what i'm talkin about.

salute to canadiana

two words: joel plaskett.

i've heard the name around before now, but i've never gotten the chance to listen. i think my dad has an album, which is neither here nor there. me and my dad listen to a lot of the same music, it's just a fact of life i've come to grips with.

but sitting in the movie theatre yesterday watching the prepreview junkets i caught a glimpse of this little gem. truth be told i think he's kind of cute too.

anyways, i've fallen in love with this hunk from canada. i'm so proud to say that he doesn't have that canadian sound, the one that i hate so fervently. i'm proud to say that i'd listen to him really loud in my car.

if you're curious, i suggest starting off slow and listening to his newest song "fashionable people". it's pretty epic. the sweater vest makes me so happy.

watch it on youtube:

dc vs archie: ultimate battle of how much i don't care

exciting! friday! wolverinewolverinewolverine!
from what i can see in the little clips (i abstained from watching the leaked bits) it seems kind of insteresting. as a little kid at the comic book expo this weekend dressed as wolverine told me, dead pool (or death pool, i'm not entirely sure what his name is, all i know is he's played by mr. scarjo himself, ryan reynolds) is the character to watch. and there is apparently a woman who is made of diamonds?
according to a classmate she apparently mugged the cast of twilight for their glitter glue-esque skin.

this reminds me all too well that i should stop going into movies blind. doing some research on what i'm watching is always mildly beneficial. for example when i saw the epic cinematic display of self-indulgence that was watchmen i went into it blind. i had no idea what i was seeing. i had no idea what to expect. in a release done by my local paper i read about what the story was based on, who the characters were and what they did. i still didn't get it.

maybe this is a sign that i should stay away from movies that are based on comic books. the only comics i've ever read involve betty and veronica, sometimes archie and jughead.
i hated reggie. that smarmy git.
moose was the epitome of all-american. madge, well, she had the unfortunate job of being moose's handler. they might've been in love, he might've been copying off of her tests. i'm not one to point fingers.
but like i was saying, the only comics i read revolved around and awfully played out three way romance, broken down jalopies and jughead devouring too many hamburgers and being lazy. i wonder what kind of message they were trying to send children? it's okay to attempt to date two women (not to mention best friends) at once, one who is vastly out of your league but likes you anyways and one who is wholesome and would do anything to be with you? or that being lazy and eating a lot of cheeseburgers for free by lying to a simple soda shop owner is acceptable if you wear some sort of crown? i'm not sure if archie has the best messages... hopefully they've updated their story lines a little or else the children of today are sorely mislead.
after my stint with archie and the gang my tastes for comics grew into the far side and charles addams, but never into the world of dc and marvel.

i'm not entirely sure how that happened, that instead of going mainstream and enjoying all the interesting storylines of bruce wayne, prince of gotham or a deranged science experiment gone awry (wolverine) i decided it was cooler to read comics about bears hunting humans or the twisted musings of charles addams.

a question for the ages, that's for sure.

nonetheless, i'm still excited to watch hugh grant prance around in a wife beater for 2 and a half hours. ryan reynolds is just the icing on an already delicious cake.

cold shoulder

"You say it's all in my head and the things I think just don't make sense. So where you been then? Don't go all coy, don't turn it round on me like it's my fault. See I can see that look in your eyes. The one that shoots me each and every time. You grace me with your cold shoulder. Whenever you look at me I wish I was her. You shower me with words made of knives. Whenever you look at me I wish I was her..."

just a quick shout out to adele. thank you for being amazing. thank you for having the most brilliant voice out there today. thank you for writing these fantastic songs. thank you for making music. you have made me a believer. of what, i'm not entirely sure yet. but i know i believe
don't let anyone tell you differently.
if you pick up any album this year, make it adele's '19' -- if you can get your sweaty paws on the extended version with the live stuff i urge you to do so.

a collection

another list. a playlist that can be played by clicking http://www.playlist.com/playlist/15815698699/standalone

it's just an assortment of songs that i put together for a dear friend in a time of requirement (she can't sleep) so i put together some songs with little to no emotional value and some good beats, that were not only good to listen to but also soothing to the ears. i think i did damn well.

i'm truly digging the metric acoustic, gord downie helping a brother out on sleeping sickness and john mayer totally crooning it out over a messy breakup. my other favorites are c-c and sleepsinging. plus, i'm totally in love with velvet undeground's coy and melodramatic pale blue eyes. i fell in love with jesse eisenberg, a gremlin and totally depressing 80's songs. gosh i love being me.

all in all, probably one of the better playlists i have out there.
love it, hate it, i don't give a FUCK.

why can't there be down-dates? there is no 'up' in this 'date'.

so an update in my pathetic documentary: one clip filmed. one out of a possible 30 billion.

it's a start.

i haven't even heard any good music lately. all i've got these days a list of movies that i can't wait to see, and a countdown until i'm out of school and leave for vegas. that's all i'm really looking forward to right now. i need a vacation or else i'm going to go all columbine on everyone. for reals.

anyways, i guess i'll give the run down about what i'm most looking forward to doing/seeing the next 3 months. this is by no means the full extent of everything i'm doing, i'm bored and tired and this is all i could come up with because i'm lame and bored:

april
  • adventureland staring kstew, jesse something-or-other, bill hader, that fiig woman and the ever lucious ryan reynolds (former mr. alanis morrisette-almost); this looks HILARIOUS. "your eyes are red, have you been crying?" 'no. well, maybe a little.' BAHAHAHA i'm seeing this saturday, since i'm tooooooo lazy to see it tomorrow
  • i love you man-- ok technically this came out in march but i'm a little slow. paul rudd makes me so unbelievably happy.
  • serve and protect: i. love. seth. rogan. that is all.
may
are there any movies coming out in may? i know the star trek movie is coming out, but am i really excited about this? i'm slightly frightened for my life. i mean, vulcan alberta is only 2 hours away. i can feel the trekkiness creeping up around me and swallowing me whole. this could be frightening. ohhh well, just remind yourself it's all in the name of film.
VEGAS. i leave the 7th. vegas won't know what hit it. it's gonna be INSANITY. twi-friend and i are going to destroy hot topic, much like they did in southpark last night (hahahaha i love southpark making fun of 'douchy vampire kids' lmao i wonder what they were actually making fun of *cough TWILIGHT cough*)
june
VANCITY ROLLERS!!!!!! except i think all filming will be diverted to italy by then but you never know. i'm sure sexy will have to stay. well, i hope he does more than stay. i hope he drinks too. and so will we.
