dc vs archie: ultimate battle of how much i don't care

exciting! friday! wolverinewolverinewolverine!
from what i can see in the little clips (i abstained from watching the leaked bits) it seems kind of insteresting. as a little kid at the comic book expo this weekend dressed as wolverine told me, dead pool (or death pool, i'm not entirely sure what his name is, all i know is he's played by mr. scarjo himself, ryan reynolds) is the character to watch. and there is apparently a woman who is made of diamonds?
according to a classmate she apparently mugged the cast of twilight for their glitter glue-esque skin.

this reminds me all too well that i should stop going into movies blind. doing some research on what i'm watching is always mildly beneficial. for example when i saw the epic cinematic display of self-indulgence that was watchmen i went into it blind. i had no idea what i was seeing. i had no idea what to expect. in a release done by my local paper i read about what the story was based on, who the characters were and what they did. i still didn't get it.

maybe this is a sign that i should stay away from movies that are based on comic books. the only comics i've ever read involve betty and veronica, sometimes archie and jughead.
i hated reggie. that smarmy git.
moose was the epitome of all-american. madge, well, she had the unfortunate job of being moose's handler. they might've been in love, he might've been copying off of her tests. i'm not one to point fingers.
but like i was saying, the only comics i read revolved around and awfully played out three way romance, broken down jalopies and jughead devouring too many hamburgers and being lazy. i wonder what kind of message they were trying to send children? it's okay to attempt to date two women (not to mention best friends) at once, one who is vastly out of your league but likes you anyways and one who is wholesome and would do anything to be with you? or that being lazy and eating a lot of cheeseburgers for free by lying to a simple soda shop owner is acceptable if you wear some sort of crown? i'm not sure if archie has the best messages... hopefully they've updated their story lines a little or else the children of today are sorely mislead.
after my stint with archie and the gang my tastes for comics grew into the far side and charles addams, but never into the world of dc and marvel.

i'm not entirely sure how that happened, that instead of going mainstream and enjoying all the interesting storylines of bruce wayne, prince of gotham or a deranged science experiment gone awry (wolverine) i decided it was cooler to read comics about bears hunting humans or the twisted musings of charles addams.

a question for the ages, that's for sure.

nonetheless, i'm still excited to watch hugh grant prance around in a wife beater for 2 and a half hours. ryan reynolds is just the icing on an already delicious cake.
