with her cigarette lips and soldier tits yeah they stand at attention with her hands on her hips. she's got a crocodile smile and switchblade style yeah, she'll stab you in the back with her fingernail file. stays cool as you come so uncomfortably numb as you drop to the floor with the flick of her tongue. she's got her hand on the wheel and one on the stick, yeah, she'll put you in gear with the twitch of her neck. oh felicia baby i think i really really need ya. so sexy when you're working on your knees girl; i'm out of my head. i don't believe ya, i need ya. felicia babe i think i really, really need ya. so sexy when you're working on your knees girl; i'm out of my head. i don't believe ya, i need ya. give me that lipstick kiss that makes me drip. wipe the sweat from my back with your leather whip. so sick the way your trickin' like a little girl asking daddy for a lollipop shaking my world. she's the queen of the serpent, the devil be damned; got Lucifer himself eating out of her hand. and when she smile from the floor i can't hold back; the train is coming to the station but it's off of the track. oh felicia babe i think i really, really need ya. so sexy when you're working on your knees girl. i'm out of my head. i don't believe ya, i need ya. felicia babe i think i really, really need ya. so sexy when you're working on your knees girl. i'm out of my head; i don't believe ya, i need ya. she'll give you what you want; she'll give you what you need. do all the things you like she got some tricks up her sleeve. she'll make you shiver with delight, have you knockin' your knees. if you want it come and get it you don't have to say please. but after she's done you know it's your turn; gonna get her hotter than a firecracker baby i'm gonna make it burn. oh felicia. felicia. oh felicia babe i think i really, really need ya. so sexy when you're working on your knees girl. i'm out of my head; i don't believe ya, i need ya. felicia, babe i think i really, really need ya. so sexy when you're working on your knees girl. i'm out of my head; i don't believe ya, i need ya.

let's get lost
ok, not everyone likes twilight. I get it.
but i do.
do/did same shit.
anyways, the new soundtrack for eclipse! wow. my thoughts:
in the third installment of the incredibly popular 'twilight saga', 'eclipse' has some big shoes to fill. a lot of expectation is riding on this film since it's such a crucial book in the series; bella finally stops being a sandy vagina about choosing between jacob and edward, edward pops the question and there's finally some violence in this mormon-love fest.
so it's only fitting that the soundtrack has to carry some weight as well.
with the twilight soundtrack, it was so... indie and quaint and earthy-- lots of sounds that sounded ethereal but were so organic and earthy that you could really understand that this movie was simply a story about a girl falling in love with the wrong guy. the first soundtrack set up the storyline; the narrative that would need to be shattered in new moon.
new moon had to be dark and haunting since the book is a bunch of garbage. there needed to be some songs that were a little bit sad (or a lot sad, depending on which team, edward or jacob, you cheer for), there needed to be some songs that redeemed; songs that gave hope and comfort to the wounded soul. and then there needed to be an epic song, one that would fully explain that love, true love, is really forever.
with that said, new moon missed the mark.
i hated that soundtrack. there was like, 3 songs i could handle. and the way they were used in the movie was just dreadful. chris weitz... for future reference not every scene in a movie needs background noise. you ruined the most heart-wrenching break-up scene in the history of break-up scenes by putting some sappy ass 'emotion evoking' violins.
fuck that, i sob because of the words, not because there are violins playing in the background.
so when i read the playlist for eclipse, i was a little hesitant, for obvious reasons.
my jaded opinion on the twilight saga is no more.
wow! the names, the songs, excellent! they're emotion provoking, thoughtful and well put together. i'm totally digging it.
so for this weeks recommendation, i say the twilight saga eclipse soundtrack. on it you'll get beck and bat for lashes, florence + the machine, metric etc... if you're a skeptic, take a gander at 'let's get lost' natasha from bat for lashes and beck's submission to the twilight machine or 'heavy in your arms' by florence + the machine.
but seriously... even if you hate twilight this album is worth owning. i'll even permit you to black out rob, kristen and taylors face.
well... maybe not rob's. that's kind of blasphemous.
but i do.

i was a heavy heart to carry; my beloved was weighed down. my arms around his neck, my fingers laced in a crown. i was a heavy heart to carry, my feet dragged across the ground and he took me to the river where he slowly let me drown.
my love has concrete feet; my love's an iron ball wrapped around your ankles over the waterfall.
i'm so heavy, heavy. heavy in your arms. i'm so heavy, heavy. heavy in your arms.
and is it worth the wait, all this killing time? are you strong enough to stand protecting both your heart and mine? who is the betrayer, who's the killer in the crowd? the one who creeps in corridors and doesn't make a sound.
my love has concrete feet; my love's an iron ball wrapped around your ankles over the waterfall.

i'm so heavy; heavy. heavy in your arms.

this will be my last confession: 'i love you' never felt like any blessing. whisper it like it's a secret; uttered to condemn the one who hears it with a heavy heart.

so.
feel the need for a dance party in your living room? perhaps your car?
are you feeling as though electronic beats mixed with the sweetest vocals ever needs to be added into your life?
well, if you've answered yes to any of these, run, don't walk, to your nearest record store and pick up the glitch mobs 'crush mode'. i've been listening to it while i'm waiting for my hair colour to take and WOW. the tracks are not only melodically fine tuned like a well maintained piece of german engineering but the fit seemlessly between one another.
i like girl talk, so this is probably the natural course of my obsession of mixed music. you don't get to hear this stuff on the radio and that's what kills me-- everyone complains about the same old shit but when i try to play anyone something new, they scoff. these brilliant examples fall under the category of "the unrefined and closed minded people won't get this shit" kind of music, and for the most part it breaks my heart. i don't want to have to explain why these are good tracks, i don't want to have to explain myself at all to these rubes but they continually complain, and when i deliver on changing it up, they are like, 'what. the. fuck. this is garbage.'
to which my heart breaks, completely. i guess i'm not meant for top 40 music lame-sauce-ness.
like, fucking WEAK! on akon. although, sadly, bodybounce is hella catchy.
kinda like herpes.
but i'm off topic, like, wayyyy off topic, so i digress.
start off slow, d/l 'android porn' or 'air raid' OR for the adventurous who want to cross their loves like i did, d/l the glitch mob remix of tv on the radio's 'red dress'.
fucking mind blowing! i fucking love that track, every time i listen to it, i fall in love just a little more. it's fucking hypnotizing; the intro sucks you into this trance that's almost like a backwards record and picks up into this lurching, heartbreakingly bass-bumpin' track with tv on the radio, my favorite band... well, second to KoL haha.
if you like android porn/air raid, head on over to your local record store and for sure pick up 'crush mode' and sit back for 40 minutes of mind blowing electronica/hip-hop mashups that make me quiver in the restrained need to dance my ass off.
seriously though folks... if you're willing to broaden your world of music just take a chance on these amazing djs. seriously! it's not garbage; the kid that said that likes nickleback.
he clearly cannot be trusted.
