Now that I have the obligatory "this is what I listened to last year" list done and dusted, it's time to focus on what's going on RIGHT NOW, which is surprisingly... not much. I didn't believe them when they said that depression takes away all the joy you gleaned from your hobbies but I can testify that literally anything I enjoyed once is now a chore. I'm still trying to figure out who I am post-university with a very part-time career at the moment so it's like life threw me every pitch all at once-- I can only hit a few at a time.
Anyhow, enough of me talking about depression like no one else has it, but also doing my part to open the dialogue of mental health issues. Here's what I've been listening to as I drive to work 1-2x per week. Spotify's Throwback Thursday this week is FIRE with Grammy winning best songs through history, which is where a lot of the songs this week came from.
I maintain that Kiss from a Rose is the best song ever written despite it being used on the soundtrack for easily the worst Batman movie ever made (there are only 2 Batmen: Keaton and Bale. Fight me).
Also, if you've never listened to the Russian group Little Big, hop on over to YouTube and check them out because I guarantee you'll be confused, a little scared, but you'll get at least one of their songs stuck in your head. It's like the soviet version of Die Antwoord but with less... Ninja and Yolandi, over racism and scare boners.
