obsessive compulsive compulsions

so by now, if you're reading this, you've noticed that i like my electro-pop-dance-synth heavy music almost as much as i like breathing and walking.
i love, love, love the glitch mob, girl talk, tv on the radio, tobacco etc... you name an artist/band that has a synth in it, or snippets of old r&b songs, i've probably creamed over it.

well, maybe not all of them, but you catch my drift.

september's recommendation is definitely one of those bands that increases the heart rate and injects pure, unadulterated adrenaline into your veins: Edmonton Alberta, Canada's GOBBLE GOBBLE.

i'm dying inside at the fact he's from edmonton (bastard oilers! city of champions my aunt fanny!) but i can't deny that this boy/manchild has mad skills at making me wish i had a place to gently sway on a piece of cardboard on the sidewalk.

i first heard boring horror in the middle of the summer and from the second the song started i was pathetically hooked. i think i listened to boring horror like ninety times the first day-- the play count on itunes was ridiculous-- and even more the following day. i was a GOBBLE GOBBLE-ing it up, and i was fiending for more. the trusty internet is a difficult and fickle place to look, especially because he's like, from canada dude, so looking and finding his songs are nearly impossible (and i refuse to give into the machine that is itunes... i mean i buy stuff sometimes but sometimes, $0.99 is way too much for a shitty song).
thank god for BIRP, otherwise i would've missed out on the gem that is GOBBLE GOBBLE's cover of the infamous Pixie's song, where is my mind?

... way out in the water watch is swimmin'... oooooooooooooo

i like the Pixies. it's taken me years to like the pixies. now whenever i hear where is my mind i'm catapulted to my backyard where the infecitous dance anthem from a deadmonton dj first grabbed ahold of my heartstrings and pulled out my ears to truly give them an orgasmic experience. it's almost like his music is causing the pleasure receptors in my brain to fire off in accordance to the pulsing of the rhythm.

i wouldn't recommend his full-length album, 'neon graveyard' for the simple fact it's not half as good as his singles. but if you've got the chance to see this amazing artist live, i'd jump, give up a vital organ and step on my granny to pop and weave and jump about to rhythmic joy. i'm eagerly anticipating his show in calgary november 6th so i can fangirl and finally sway-- artistically-- on my cardboard.

if you're interested these are my top GOBBLE GOBBLE picks:

boring horror
where is my mind (pixie's blasphemy)
lawn knives
eat sun, son
end of days
