it started with my infatuation with the song 'cosmic love' by florence and the machine and then i got curious and downloaded the entire album 'lungs'-- so far there are no complaints. i'm not a huge fan of 'kiss with a fist', but it's still sickeningly catchy nonetheless. 'blinding' has a danceable rhythm but it's not dance music-- it's just beautiful. i love the string accompaniment throughout the album; definitely adds a level of sophistocation that most pop music lacks these days.
'hurricane drunk' is kind of like my theme song, however:
i'm going out, i'm going to drink myself to death. And in the crowd i see you with someone else i brace myself 'cause i know it's going to hurt but i like to think at least things can't get any worse. i hope that you see me, 'cause i'm staring at you but when you look over, you look right through. then you lean and kiss her on the head and i never felt so alive and so dead.
why florence and the machine hasn't caught on in north america, i'll never understand.
but definitely pick up 'lungs' at your local record store because it's a must-have.
