the newest obession...

i don't know if anyone saw them on saturday night live last season. needless to say, not my most favorite memory of this quirky band.
i heard 'dlz' on the local radio station and immediately fell in love. so naturally i downloaded all of 'dear science' which on high rotation on my ipod regularly.
i really, really, really like 'lover's day' because its so beautiful and sinfully naughty at the same time. i love the lyrics. and i mean, love them to pieces.

but then one night when i wasn't doing what i should have been doing (of course) i was instructed to download 'return to cookie mountain' since it was written up as being better than 'dear science'.

in a word, this band is brilliant. i simply urge you to go out and buy the albums, both 'return to cookie mountain' and 'dear science'.
those will probably top your list for 'best cd purchase i've ever made'.

say say my playmate
won't you lay hands on me
mirror my malady
transfer my tragedy
got a curse i cannot lift
shines when the sunset shifts
when the moon is round and full
gotta bust that box; gotta gut that fish
my mind's aflame.
we could jet in a stolen car
but i bet we wouldn't get too far
before the transformation takes
and bloodlust tanks and
crave gets slaked...
my mind has changed
my body's frame but god i like it
my heart's aflame, my body's strained
but god i like it
my mind has changed
my body's frame but god i like it
my heart's aflame, my body's strained
but god i like it
charge me your day rate
i'll turn you out in kind when the moon is round and full
gonna teach you tricks that'll blow your mongrel mind
baby doll, i recognize you're a hideous thing inside
if ever there were a lucky kind it's you, you, you, you.
i know its strange; another way to get to know you.
you'll never know unless we go, so let me show you.
i know its strange; another way to get to know you.
we've got till noon-- here comes the moon so let it show you
dream me, oh dreamer down to the floor.
open my hands and let them weave into yours.
fell me, completer down to my core.
open my heart and let it bleed into yours.
feeding on fever down on all fours i'll show you what all that howl is for
hey, hey my playmate let me lay waste to thee
burned down their hanging trees;
it's hot here hot here hot here hot here
got a curse we cannot lift; shines when the sunset shifts
there's a cure: comes with a kiss
the bite that binds, the gift that gives
now that we got gone for good writing under your riding hood
tell your gramma and your mma too it's true
we're howling forever.

* i want to clarify point 7. his voice normally sounds like mating/dying cats but this song makes me beyond happy. i'm not sure why, i can't actually understand all of the words. long ago, when i first heard him sing, i used to blare the tuneskies loud so when i was driving it was like he was serenading me from my backseat. something i'm sure a lot of girls dream about. but, since my recent awakening (i guess that's what you'd call it) i wanted to pay a final homage to the man i lusted after for almost a year by putting one of his tracks on high rotation on my ipod. i think it's perfect. take a listen to it if you're one of the nay-sayers. his voice isn't half bad, mumbles and all.

ooze the crazy

i really didn't know what to title this post, since it's a mash-up of all sorts of things. but bear with me as the chaos that i've written sorts itself out once and for all.

since i'm avoiding spending money i've taken to downloading my musical interests from the internet. hate on me if you want, but you have to hear me out.
so today i got the new album from weezer, 'raditude'.
i've always been a fan of rivers cumo for reasons unbeknownst to me, i think it has something to do with the fact that i think he's hot and that they usually make incredibly infectious music. you can't say that you don't know of at least one weezer song. don't let that sentiment make you think that i love absolutely everything they do. i wasn't a huge fan of the album with 'we are all on drugs'. i liked that song, and i think there were a couple others. i fell in love again with the red album.
and now raditude. HELLO! definitely going to be on rotation on my ipod alongside radiohead 'hail the theif' & 'in rainbows' and kings of leon (insert entire discography).
the musical community should be listening to jay-z and rivers cumo because they're both brilliant. WHO MIXES WEEZER WITH WEEZY!?! rivers cumo, that's fucking who. 'can't stop partying' is brilliant, thank you, thank you, thank you whomever got lil wayne to donate some time, for it makes for a truly interesting song. i can't help but giggle when i think of rivers in some dank, LA nightclub with a hot bee-atch on his lap drinkin patron, nodding his head to the beat of jay-z or britney spears. you've got to be joking, right?
this is why i like weezer. they're not afraid to fuck with you. would rivers actually sit in a dark and sweaty nightclub? maybe. that's the part you're not supposed to know. they probably wouldn't because they're busy going to harvard and having families (not to mention dating asian women, rivers' calling card) and making ROCKIN' music.
i'm still in first lust with the new sound and songs. weezer never fails to amuse me both musically and lyrically. it's a bit more pop-rock than the've done in the past, but that's nothing a little 'perfect situation' era weezer can't dilute. a perfect addition to my weezer library. i might even actually buy this one!

the other recent acquisition of mine i don't know if i'll actually buy. in the true spirit of the internet, i downloaded the 'twilight saga: new moon soundtrack' in all it's indie band glory. except upon the first listen, i hear the dulcet tones of brandon flowers of the killers. ¿quĂ©? indie... band...? killers? um, maybe in 2002 when they were in relative obscurity. but since 'hot fuss' they're pretty painfully mainstream, and not that good. chris weitz, i'm concernicused at this choice. the rest of the album, eh; i have no real beef with it, to be honest. it's not the greatest soundtrack i've ever heard, nor will it be the worst. i'm intrigued, both as a severe diehard twi-hard and a curious music listener, as to how you've used these songs. will the evoke the emotions you desired? or will i be confused. granted, i will never be as confused as i was in 'twilight' with or without musical accompaniment in 'new moon'. catherine hardwicke needed to lay off the drugs before and after production. but really, the killers? their contribution is mildly infectious, thankfully. i'm hoping it's not a major player otherwise the scene will be tainted with brandon flowers' whiny voice. thom yorke was a disappointer! i'm shocked. i really liked his 'all for the best' single he recently released and i was shocked and almost disappointed when his contribution, 'hearing damage' wasn't the same caliber as 'all for the best'. not my most favorite thom yorke piece.
the relative unknowns, such as anya marina, hurricane bells band of skulls and sea wolf are a wonderful respite from the likes of muse, death cab for cutie and (shudder) the killers. anya marina was picked up from the depths of myspace, her song 'satellite heart' having been reformatted in a quieter measure to suit whatever part of the movie it's in. one can only guess at this point (and naturally, i'll specualate later in this post, so bear with me) where in the movie each of these songs will be. not liking all of them makes me impartial to where ever they end up-- i could care less.
although, it's not all bad. lykke li, my darling who should always always always cover kings of leon songs (even they think she should) contributes the most haunting song to this soundtrack. i had to google the lyrics, since i can't really understand them, but that's half the brilliance. it's so sad, you should really only hear the reverberating chords over your sobs. lines like
"so tell me when you hear my heart stop/ you're the only one that knows/tell me when you hear my silence/ there's a possibility i wouldn't know/ so tell me when my sorrrow's over/ you're the reason why i'm closed/ tell me when you hear me falling/ there's a possibility it wouldn't show"
i can't help but tear up and want to hug something fierce. i'd settle for a toasty warm werewolf. or a stone cold vampire. i just need to hug something when i hear this song.
same with roslyn. UM, I RUINED THIS FOR MYSELF, i'll just say that now. i know exactly where this song is in the movie and quite frankly, i'm about to lose my shit even thinking about it. don't google those lyrics, they make ZERO sense. but bon iver did a fantastic job of ripping my heart out and stomping on it. so did chris weitz, but i'm getting to him. give me time, haha. however, it's a perfect song. such a lovely melody and bon iver and st. vincent, she being someone i'm beginning to love slowly provide delicate and haunting vocals for this song that just happens to be in the most heartbreakingly painful breakup scenes to ever be witnessed by the queen of all things heartless (i.e myself). IT WILL BE AS IF I NEVER EXISTED INDEED, good vampire friend. fuck me i feel sorry for whomever i sit next to on thursday. they're going to think i'm loony. they won't be far off at that point.
but the 'twilight saga: new moon soundtrack' isn't all i was hoping for, but all i have come to expect from this franchise. i give it a fairly good rating, but i can tell you right now, the only reason i'd buy the physical copy was if i got desperate about having yet another rob picture to gaze at lovingly.

trust me, i don't need any more. i ooze crazy at the best of times-- i don't need any excuses.

speaking of crazy, did anyone else think that the live coverage streaming from myspace of the new moon premiere in LA was a bit much? don't get me wrong, i would have given up most of my vital organs for a chance to see rob's hair from a distance, but watching the red carpet made me feel like i was watching porn. i got the heebie jeebies and quite frankly, i'm not afraid to admit it. it was a bit too much on the overexposure front. everyone's voyueristic, yeah, i get it. but come ON! that was insanity. plus the hosts (anya marina and some guy... i have no idea who the hell he was) were scattered and awkward. i can't help but love kristen's dodge of their question, quickly referencing it back to her character and not herself. cute move, but we're on to you. every move you make is dissected by the keen eyes of twilighters world wide so don't be surprised when people question why you didn't answer the question properly.
but all in all, i'm getting more and more excited about the upcoming release. hi, two more sleeps! i can hear the simultaneous 'robgasm' heard in movie theatres around north america come friday. movie theatre seats will have never seen so much female jizz since leo. women will be slipping and sliding in the ooze secreted after multiple showings of new moon. the theatres will reek of sex for weeks.
i'm going to try to keep it together. although knowing the songs in the movie and guessing where they'll be placed is my most recent obsession. i know where one goes and much like voldemort, i'm not allowed to speak of it. even as i typed it, my nose started to burn with the onslaught of snot, my eyes watered uncontrollably and the lower lip quivered. CAN YOU TELL I'M HAVING ISSUES?!?! god damn. two days and i'm already a wreck. maybe the more i desensitize myself to this the less chance i'll have of being a complete wreck in the theatre?
no. i'm horribly wrong.

needless to say, i'm an excited movie-goer these days. pirate radio and one of my favorite british actors (bill nighy, one of britain's only 32 actors HAHA) when i'm done being a fangirl; harry potter and the deathly hallows pt 1 opens this time next year to which i'm DYING inside about. i stumbled upon this information... okay... i looked it up out of curiosity. and now i've got a countdown going. i can't wait. almost 365 days to go! potterites, constant vigilance!

but i have a whole year of twilight inspired sensory overload. thank you back to back franchise, how i love thee. i don't have long to wait until the next installment of my fangirl crack. i mean, hello, rob ain't getting any younger. when he's on the shorter end to thirty it's hard to play a 17-year-old virgin, non? my mother already thinks he looks like a 'lecherous old man' thanks to some publicity photos that recently surfaced in our local paper. i couldn't help but agree... he did look a bit like a poacher. poor kristen, i wonder if people often ask her if she knows she's sleeping with a lecherous old man? BAH!!! more like 'sex personified'. i believe i said that once. mmmm rob-sex.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh lord.

the streets are dark, my pulse is flat-lined as i'm running to you.
you sit completely unaware of what i'm about to do.
the air is thick with tension, much like when we are together.
my fangs are aching as i'm pondering about you and i forever.
as i round your corner i am nervous that you won't be my love.
i knock three times and hop that my pale complexion won't blow my cover.
you answer the door with your innocent face;
would you like to leave this human race, tonight?
eternity will never be enough for me and eternally we'll live our infalliable love
my brain is pumping an unusual secretion of lust.
your eyes are softer now and your chin, it drips a bloody colour of rust.
i am raising up the stakes of this round, i am playing for keeps.
oh, would you like to leave this human race, tonight?

_________________________________________________________

... i remember when we were gambling to win everybody else said 'better luck next time'.
i don't wanna bend like the bad girls bend; i just wanna be your friend, is it ever gonna be enough?
is it ever gonna be enough?
... all the lace and the skin in the shop couldn't get you off.
all the toys and the tools in the box couldn't get you off.
all the noise, all the voices never stop.
i remember when we were gambling to win everybody else said 'better luck next time'.
i don't wanna bend like the bad girls bend; i just wanna be your friend while you're giving me a hard time.

oh but the longing is terrible, a wanton heart under attack.
i wanna love you all the way off, i wanna break your back and colour off all that's hysterical.
a lover that loves that's one.
groomed with the laughter, ecstatic disaster; come, let's arouse the fun.
we could build an engine out of all your rising stars.
tear apart the apart, we seem to think we are.
call of work let's lay-- call it lovers day.
call it lovers day.
give me the keys to your hiding place i'm not gonna tear it apart.
i'm gonna keep you weak in the knees, try to unlock your heart.
you're gonna turn me animal; you're gonna turn me dumb.
kiss in the night, bringing the light, you're like the rising sun.
i hunger for you like a cannibal. not gonna let you run.
i'm gonna take you, i'm gonna shake you; i'm gonna make you come.
swear to god it'll get so hot, it'll melt our faces off.
then we can see the you the me beyond mirror outside clock.
held naked in the light, held gently, held tight.
so soft, get off, get off.
ball so hard we'll smash the walls and break the bed and crash the floors.
don't stop to laugh and scream and have the neighbors call the cops.
'til all the eyes have seen our fire play. can't forget, you mark it down.
call it lovers day.
yes here of course there are miracles under your sighs and moans.
i'm gonna take you, i'm gonna take you, i'm gonna take you home.
i'm gonna take you home...

it's those pills that you don't need to take; medicating perfection now that's a mistake. i know that you're spent, just let me sing you to sleep.
it's your finger and how i'm wrapped around it. it's your grace and how it keeps me grounded. i know that you're weak, just let me sing you sleep.
if you need anything just say the word, i mean, anything. rest assured if you start to doze then i'll tuck you in, plant my lips where your necklace is closed.
while you were sleeping i figured out everything: i was constructed for you and you were molded for me. now i feel your name coursin' through my veins. you shine so bright, it's insane you put the sun to shame.
if you need anything ,just say the word, i mean, anything (i really do). rest assured if you start to doze then i'll tuck you in, plant my lips where your necklace is closed... "

one word: radiohead.
i'm a huge fan of in rainbows at the moment after downloading the entire radiohead discography. i feel so left out of an inside joke having not discovered the vast love i have for this band sooner. thom yorke is a genius. radiohead is perfect for this dreary, snow covered grey skied landscape i find myself living in now. perfect accompaniment for the lonely reading i do on the c-train. tonight i'll think about listening to pablo honey. maybe kid a. the possibilities are infinite at this point, since nothing i've listened to has been bad.
then again, i'm in a honeymoon stage. i'm sure there will be stuff i'm not completly enamoured with.
or maybe not.
i'm also highly intrigued as to what thom yorke has submitted for the nm soundtrack. like the huge nerd i am, i'm eagerly anticipating friday, now that they've bumped up the release date for the soundtrack. so many songs to pour over! so many questions, only to have their answers delivered to me almost a month later.
insufferable.
speaking of insufferable, i have to go read that horrific book because i'm hooked like a junkie. at least i'm past the part where i openly weep in public. did i ever get some weird stares on the c-train as i wiped my tears on my jacket. people don't know how to react when there's someone crying. especially when it seems like it's over nothing. i can't help it.

enough. anyways, a quick playlist since i'm head over heels in love.

'cause if you're not really here then the stars don't even matter. now, i'm filled to the top with fear but it's all just a bunch of matter because if you're not really here then i don't want to be either. i want to be next to you, black and gold, black and gold, black and gold. i looked up into the night sky and see a thousand eyes staring back and all around these golden beacons i see nothing but black. i feel a way of something beyond them, i don't see what i can feel. if vision is the only validation then most of my life isn't real. 'cause if you're not really here then the stars don't even matter. now, i'm filled to the top with fear but it's all just a bunch of matter because if you're not really here then i don't want to be either. i want to be next to you, black and gold, black and gold, black and gold... i'm not sure about this...

ok. so for those of you who don't know, i'm a twilighter. i'm not sure how it happened, but i know i can't stop.
so naturally when they released the soundtrack info earlier this week, my little heart went thump thump thump. that and the fact that the male lead in this movie proves to be better than a workout sometimes.
i digress, i get off topic when thoughts of rob (swoon) flutter into my head. i'm a sucker.
so, upon scouring the internet i've come up with my own thoughts, mostly on the tracks that made it. i could only find a few of them, but i'm not too sure i'm feeling any.
i love death cab for cutie, i truly do. but this song is just their same old shit hacked a different way and wrapped up in a twilighters dream; some ghosty sounding vocals with a haunted guitar and lilting beat.
i didn't realize you'd need a coffin to listen to it, because for real, i'm sure my pulse stopped half way through. coma inducing!
another crowd pleaser, muse made it on to the album, something i wasn't shocked at all since the queen of all things twilight, ms stephanie meyer has quoted muse as the reason twilight got written. for christsakes woman! pick a better band! super massive black hole was pretty catchy, like 2 years ago. now i have all these teen girls singing 'supa massive black holllllllllllle' in my head every time i hear this song. ruined! (i would like to now point out that overshadowing that image of skanky hot topic dressed tween girls squee-ing in my head i also see jackson rathbone flipping that heavenly bat, looking extremely yum. you had nothing to do with this so i still blame you for all things horrible, sorry) you have single handedly ruined muse for me. thank god they haven't released their 'i belong to you' as their first single off their new album. i'll be forever thankful for that.
being as my patience won out over my need at this point, this is as far as i got into my research. i was disheartened enough by these gems of 'slit-your-wrist-tastic' new moon sing alongs that i'm really unwilling to give the rest a try. hopefully all hope is not lost; last years soundtrack was a hard hitter and i fell in love all over again with iron and wine, not to mention new comers black ghosts and blue foundation. true love is really finding a song that you can moan along to.

enough for now, there's a lab monitor about...

' lay back baby and we'll do this right, there's blankets in back we can use.
we'll start the car but we'll stay in park; the cold can kills us before fumes.
now's a right time for a good song. got something to say what i can't.
do you feel bad, like i feel bad? pour us a road we'll both drink and drive.
kiss me with your cherry lipstick. never wash you off my face.
hit me i can take your cheap shots. leave you with the love we made.
come alive on the driverside, so close i taste your breath.
your lips go dry but they're sweet inside; wine must go right to your head.
it'd be easy if you get mad, but three fingers point back at you.
we can stay here, stay out all night. no one will know, us and the moonlight.
kiss me with your cherry lipstick, never was you off my face.
hit me i can take you cheap shots. leave you with the love we made.
i set my watch by streetside clock, a needle in echo groove.
you pierce my heart like a willing arm, your ticking makes my blood move.
there's no way out, this fade out. be happy to get what you do.
make him notice with both fists because quitting alone will never get you dry.
give me everything you've got now, i don't feel a single thing.
drive me out into the cold rain, let it hover over me.
kiss me with your cherry lipstick, never wash you off my face.
hit me i can take your cheap shots. leave you with the love we made... '

but i'm tired of the lying; tired of fighting
no, and it's not going to change
you ask for my heart; you know that i'm down
but not the way you lie to me you tear it all apart and beg for me to stay
i've sailed off to sea-- i'm not coming back
i won't forget you. i'm not going to let you win
but i'm tired of the lying; tired of fighting
oh and it's not going to change
counting down, make that sound
when you know it makes no sense
counting down till you mess around
and i know you can't ever change
when i'm trembling, thrown overboard
when i'm ready to relive the past
counting down, make that sound
break the silence
pretend it's not forever i'll pull myself together
i'll say that i'll forget her i'll breathe
and i'll say she never hurt me and
look at it as learning and
laugh about the good and the bad

Team Followill

This.
Was.
Simly.
Breathtaking.

Now, before I begin to preach, hear me out. I don't do concerts. They're too loud, and being the height challenged person I am, I can never see the band. Plus, I've always found that bands I like lose my respect after I see them live because they're usually not as good-- loose and disjointed, often off key and kind of scatter-brained. So, in general, if I go to a concert, I really, really, really like the band I'm seeing. It doesn't happen that often, trust me.

So when I heard that the Kings of Leon were going to be coming to my frigid part of the northern hemisphere, I jumped at the opportunity. I patiently waited that morning to purchase my tickets on ticketmaster, falling victim to their shitty seat offers the first day of sales. So I hunted down a floor ticket from a satellite site for what seemed like a good price ($99.00) which turned out to be not such a good price ($99.00USD= approximately $150CND at the time of purchase).

But I was stoked. Kings of Leon, on the floor, belting out my favorite songs?! How could I be disappointed?!

Time passed. My tickets were purchased in April, and the concert wouldn't be until August 13. Which, I might add (*WARNING: very nerdy content coming up) is the date of which Edward Cullen and Isabella Swan marry each other in Breaking Dawn (alas, I am an incredibly huge Twilight nerd-- sorry). Come August 1st I was counting down the days, even though I was currently on an extremely drunken holiday. Needless to say, I was a bit excited to see them live. On the floor. Where I could smell his sweat.

The concert itself was brilliant-- I've never had such an appreciation for an opening act as I did last night. The Whigs are possibly the next best thing, and I'm forever grateful that KOL have extended their warms arms to allow the small band to tour with them. It probably also helps that their both bands from the [dirty] south; homesick is as homesick does. I miss the south too; just not Dallas, Texas. Tornadoes can rip that place apart and I won't shed a single tear. But that's another story.

The music was quality, the sound was... as good as it gets for concerts. They played simple sets, inkeeping with their beginnings. Caleb, the lead singer wears a cross I'm sure he's worn since childhood being brought up with a popular preacher for a father. I can't imagine going from that to this-- playing stadiums and arenas all over north america (I'm unsure if they're touring in Europe? I'm sure they have, they're HUGE in the U.K).

I just can't get over the fact I saw them live. At one point in the night my friend and myself were no more than a scant 10ft from the stage, the crowd pulsing and singing along to one of their older songs.

Caleb's speech at the end was spoken like a true artist fond of their craft but appreciative of their devoted fans. He thanked the crowd numerous times, and at one point explained that he was pleased in the hopes that people didn't just come to see them perform songs off their new album, the ones that are on the radio all the time. Which is the unfortunate thing about popular music and the radio. Thank god for my ipod hook-up in my car, otherwise I'd go insane. I love their older albums just as much as I like the new one, if not more. They've grown as artist, but they know where to come back to when they're done experimenting. They've found a good sound, and they keep with it, but through experiments their sound becomes richer and more diverse. Quite simply, they're on the path to something huge.

I have to get off my post-coital concert bliss high and come back down to earth for work. I'll refine some of my points later, maybe re-write this horridly written piece. Until then, enjoy in the thoughts that Memphis, Tennesse may have lost Elvis and Motown, but they gained the Kings.

me looking at you, you looking at me
it's always the same, it's just a shame that's all.
turning me on, turning me off
making me feel like i want too much
living with you's just putting me through it all of the time
running around, staying out all night
taking it all instead of taking one bite
living with you's just putting me through it all of the time
i could leave but i won't go
well it'd be easier i know

fashionable, fashionable fashionable people.

one more time i don't wanna hang around in someone elses scene;
fashionable people doing questionable things.
so ditch him, he's no good for you; ditch him and do the switcheroo.

salute to canadiana

two words: joel plaskett.

i've heard the name around before now, but i've never gotten the chance to listen. i think my dad has an album, which is neither here nor there. me and my dad listen to a lot of the same music, it's just a fact of life i've come to grips with.

but sitting in the movie theatre yesterday watching the prepreview junkets i caught a glimpse of this little gem. truth be told i think he's kind of cute too.

anyways, i've fallen in love with this hunk from canada. i'm so proud to say that he doesn't have that canadian sound, the one that i hate so fervently. i'm proud to say that i'd listen to him really loud in my car.

if you're curious, i suggest starting off slow and listening to his newest song "fashionable people". it's pretty epic. the sweater vest makes me so happy.

dc vs archie: ultimate battle of how much i don't care

exciting! friday! wolverinewolverinewolverine!
from what i can see in the little clips (i abstained from watching the leaked bits) it seems kind of insteresting. as a little kid at the comic book expo this weekend dressed as wolverine told me, dead pool (or death pool, i'm not entirely sure what his name is, all i know is he's played by mr. scarjo himself, ryan reynolds) is the character to watch. and there is apparently a woman who is made of diamonds?
according to a classmate she apparently mugged the cast of twilight for their glitter glue-esque skin.

this reminds me all too well that i should stop going into movies blind. doing some research on what i'm watching is always mildly beneficial. for example when i saw the epic cinematic display of self-indulgence that was watchmen i went into it blind. i had no idea what i was seeing. i had no idea what to expect. in a release done by my local paper i read about what the story was based on, who the characters were and what they did. i still didn't get it.

maybe this is a sign that i should stay away from movies that are based on comic books. the only comics i've ever read involve betty and veronica, sometimes archie and jughead.
i hated reggie. that smarmy git.
moose was the epitome of all-american. madge, well, she had the unfortunate job of being moose's handler. they might've been in love, he might've been copying off of her tests. i'm not one to point fingers.
but like i was saying, the only comics i read revolved around and awfully played out three way romance, broken down jalopies and jughead devouring too many hamburgers and being lazy. i wonder what kind of message they were trying to send children? it's okay to attempt to date two women (not to mention best friends) at once, one who is vastly out of your league but likes you anyways and one who is wholesome and would do anything to be with you? or that being lazy and eating a lot of cheeseburgers for free by lying to a simple soda shop owner is acceptable if you wear some sort of crown? i'm not sure if archie has the best messages... hopefully they've updated their story lines a little or else the children of today are sorely mislead.
after my stint with archie and the gang my tastes for comics grew into the far side and charles addams, but never into the world of dc and marvel.

i'm not entirely sure how that happened, that instead of going mainstream and enjoying all the interesting storylines of bruce wayne, prince of gotham or a deranged science experiment gone awry (wolverine) i decided it was cooler to read comics about bears hunting humans or the twisted musings of charles addams.

a question for the ages, that's for sure.

nonetheless, i'm still excited to watch hugh grant prance around in a wife beater for 2 and a half hours. ryan reynolds is just the icing on an already delicious cake.

a collection

another list. a playlist that can be played by clicking http://www.playlist.com/playlist/15815698699/standalone

it's just an assortment of songs that i put together for a dear friend in a time of requirement (she can't sleep) so i put together some songs with little to no emotional value and some good beats, that were not only good to listen to but also soothing to the ears. i think i did damn well.

i'm truly digging the metric acoustic, gord downie helping a brother out on sleeping sickness and john mayer totally crooning it out over a messy breakup. my other favorites are c-c and sleepsinging. plus, i'm totally in love with velvet undeground's coy and melodramatic pale blue eyes. i fell in love with jesse eisenberg, a gremlin and totally depressing 80's songs. gosh i love being me.

all in all, probably one of the better playlists i have out there.
love it, hate it, i don't give a FUCK.

why can't there be down-dates? there is no 'up' in this 'date'.

so an update in my pathetic documentary: one clip filmed. one out of a possible 30 billion.

it's a start.

i haven't even heard any good music lately. all i've got these days a list of movies that i can't wait to see, and a countdown until i'm out of school and leave for vegas. that's all i'm really looking forward to right now. i need a vacation or else i'm going to go all columbine on everyone. for reals.

anyways, i guess i'll give the run down about what i'm most looking forward to doing/seeing the next 3 months. this is by no means the full extent of everything i'm doing, i'm bored and tired and this is all i could come up with because i'm lame and bored:

april
  • adventureland staring kstew, jesse something-or-other, bill hader, that fiig woman and the ever lucious ryan reynolds (former mr. alanis morrisette-almost); this looks HILARIOUS. "your eyes are red, have you been crying?" 'no. well, maybe a little.' BAHAHAHA i'm seeing this saturday, since i'm tooooooo lazy to see it tomorrow
  • i love you man-- ok technically this came out in march but i'm a little slow. paul rudd makes me so unbelievably happy.
  • serve and protect: i. love. seth. rogan. that is all.
may
are there any movies coming out in may? i know the star trek movie is coming out, but am i really excited about this? i'm slightly frightened for my life. i mean, vulcan alberta is only 2 hours away. i can feel the trekkiness creeping up around me and swallowing me whole. this could be frightening. ohhh well, just remind yourself it's all in the name of film.
VEGAS. i leave the 7th. vegas won't know what hit it. it's gonna be INSANITY. twi-friend and i are going to destroy hot topic, much like they did in southpark last night (hahahaha i love southpark making fun of 'douchy vampire kids' lmao i wonder what they were actually making fun of *cough TWILIGHT cough*)
june
VANCITY ROLLERS!!!!!! except i think all filming will be diverted to italy by then but you never know. i'm sure sexy will have to stay. well, i hope he does more than stay. i hope he drinks too. and so will we.

i left you with your nose a'bleedin' and your toes a'creepin'
ahhh so mundane and incomplete
hand me down my pants and get me off this street
i'm passed out in your garden
i'm in and i can't get off
so soft
i'd pop myself in your body
i'd come into your part
but i'm soft
behind the fringe of a whiskey high
mutilating cat like eyes
and in your nose blood decadence
you try to drag me into your bohemian dancing
you paint my fingers and you paint my toes
you let your perfect nipples show
i'm passed out in your garden
i'm in and i can't get off
so soft
i'd pop myself in your body
i'd come into your party
but i'm soft
i'm passed out in your garden
i'm in i can't get off

i'd come all over your party

plans.

originally i was going to scan my thoughts for my movie, but since that would not only be too much work, it might ruin the surprise. i'm sure it's been done before. i'm just the first one to do 100% of my planning on paper.
that i know of.

so here's the loose, rough draft of what's going through my head.

it's a documentary loosely taking place in the present and future, focusing on some particular areas of my life that i'm excited about and some that others are enthusiastic about that i have no clue about, but am willing to grin and bear it for the sake of movie making fantasticness. i know that doesn't give anyone much to go on, but as the days continue i'll be compiling my thoughts better and maybe be able to articulate better than i have right now. plus this blog will be my sancutary for my rants, grievances and general updates on how the doc is coming along. for serious, this is as much a part of my as any of my tattoos. i just can't wait to start. i'm on the precipice of something so monumental. i don't know, but this is how i feel about it all. i just want to do it.
fuck nike. it's allll me.

we should be doing a few screen tests soon, maybe i'll post up the hilarity that will inevitably ensue. but first things first, a loose canon script and a desire to get it all out there.
